What is Animal EFT?
In short Animal EFT it is the Emotional Freedom of animals using a specific technique of tapping on acupuncture points, and it can be used to help the owner, handler, rider or trainer too! EFT is a wonderful way to treat animals and it is easy for you to learn, to use whenever it is needed. Animals live in a world alive with energy, and use it far more effectively than most people do.
Think of the dog who knows when her owner is returning home. Or the cat who lies next to the sick or scared child. Think of two horses who take their riders by surprise by spooking at the same imagined danger. Animals are tuned into the energetic fields that exist alongside the reality we can see, and they read and respond to what is there.
Humans also work in this energetic field, but the majority are not aware of this. When you understand what your animal wants, even though they cannot tell you, that is YOU working on an energy level, within the fields of energy. So next time you feel your cat telling you she needs food, or your dog pressuring you while he lays quite still on the ground, to take you out for a walk, remember this is you connecting to your animal within the field of energy.
Because animals live as much within these fields of energy as they do the physical world they respond well to treatments using energy, such as EFT ( Emotional Freedom Technique ). EFT works by tapping very gently with your finger on a set number of points that correspond to the ends of meridians, or energy pathways in the body. The tapping, plus focusing and intention, clears any stuck energy and allows for it to flow strongly once more.
Stuck energy shows up as emotional disturbances and physical sensations. We all know, for instance, how fear feels to us. It isn't just an emotion floating about in our heads, we can feel fear somewhere in our bodies too. Animals work in the same way, and this discomfort becomes a problem when it isn't dealt with.
Lets take for example a dog who chews when left alone. We understand this is an anxiety problem, dogs are after all pack animals, and so the answer is, apparently, to cage the dog if you have to leave them alone. So then you create a new problem of an unhappy, anxious dog who is now imprisoned. If this carries on many more problems can occur with this dog over time, that manifest in many, seemingly unrelated ways.
Instead we can use a different approach to create a happy dog, and happy owner/dog relationship. Using EFT we can tap on ourselves, focusing on the dog. The dog can be present with you, or not, energy is not distance related. This is called surrogate tapping and it works because our energy field is linked with that of the dog. We can find out why the dog is upset, what the dog needs, whether the problem stems from the owners own anxiety about leaving the dog, or memories of another dog, or anxieties about anything at all!! If you leave the house, for example, in a state of stress, your dog picks up on this and immediately thinks there is something to get anxious about. It cannot get to you, to be pack, and help and support you, but it tries damn hard by ripping and digging to get out of the house.
Do you see how easily things can escalate with animals, just because they work on a level that we ignore or do not even realise exists?
EFT is such a simple method that causes the animal no anxiety, but is an effective tool for dealing with any issues that come up, quickly, for the human and animal!
